Last night’s LFIG hustings hosted at the University of Westminster saw Ed Miliband, Ed Balls and David Miliband deliver short presentations followed by questions. It is expected that the event will be shown on the University of Westminster’s website. A summary of what was said will appear shortly. What came across last night, however, is that all three candidates are political heavyweights and choosing one to be the next leader of the Labour Party will be a close run thing on the basis of their performances in the hustings. As David Miliband said, “all the candidates share the same general political values about society.” Both Diane Abbott and Andy Burnham were out campaigning elsewhere last night.
