The
Labour Finance & Industry Group has a membership of paid-up Labour Party members in
business who form into small working groups to support policy development
in key areas of government interest.
The
Chair initiated a rationalisation of working
groups and has inspired a re-orientation of groups to specifically follow
the new Labour agenda, in particular, with respect to the need to increase
productivity and focus on success in Europe. For instance, the City
Group will now focus on the challenges for Euro regulation and the
opportunities for venture capital and pension policy across the EU.
Meanwhile, LFIG will be looking at the relationship between productivity
and corporate governance, training, RDAs etc.
LFIG
hosts fringe Meetings at the Labour Conferences
every year. These events attract businesses and
delegates alike.
An
LFIG Parliamentary group has been formed, and there are opportunities for
individual backbenchers to support particular Working Groups.
LFIG members include Ministers, MPs,
Lords and MEPs, as well as many senior figures from business.
Anyone
wishing to join the Group should please contact Jennifer
Muller, the LFIG Administrator or complete the Member
Application form, and we will be in contact with you shortly
thereafter.
